Professor Paul Langford BSc PhD CBiol FRSB – Paul is a Professor of Paediatric Infectious Diseases at Imperial College, London.
His research includes using Reverse Vaccinology 2.0 approaches to identify novel vaccine candidates to protect against invasive disease caused by Neisseria meningitis and Streptococcus pneumoniae, the development of diagnostics and the use of antimicrobial peptides to aid prevention of paediatric tuberculosis, and point-of-care diagnostics for human and veterinary bacterial respiratory pathogens.
He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee on Genetic Modification (SACGM), has advised the Advisory Committee on Releases to the Environment (ACRE) regarding genetically modified human respiratory bacteria, and sat on Meningitis Now (Chair), NC3Rs (Deputy Chair) and BBSRC grant funding committees.
