A recent charity rugby match and luncheon recently took place in memory of the much loved Coleraine Rugby Club Stalwart (Legend) Carl (Monty) Monteith. Carl was an active meningitis campaigner in Northern Ireland for over 35 years, who sadly passed away in 2022. This latest event, The Perennials v Coleraine in Carl’s memory raised over £2,500 with more donations pledged.
The event also coincided with the official opening of the refurbished banqueting suite at the clubs headquarters. “ The Monteith Suite” Founder Steve Dayman said “Carl and his wife Alison have been our dear friends for 38 years . Carl was a once in a lifetime person who organised numerous events and raised awareness for the meningitis cause and many other charitable causes benefited from his charitable activities. He is sadly missed and remembered fondly by so many. We are very grateful to the Perennials for their continued support”
